SSG 19K NCOER Bullets: 6 Examples at Tank Commander Scope
A SSG 19K commands a tank: a 4-Soldier crew, a weapons system worth millions, and a gunnery score with his name on it. Tank commander is also the first 19K job on the four-box form, where ¶3-11a starts deciding boxes.
// 01What makes a SSG 19K NCOER different
A tank commander’s NCOER has the cleanest evidence in the Army: the tower grades the crew in public, the motor pool grades the tank in reports, and the platoon grades the TC every time his tank is where it should be. Qualification runs, engagement rates, crew stability and cross-training, operational readiness through services and field time, and the gunner being groomed for his own tank, that is the report.

Why this reads as Exceeded: deliberately building a successor, with a first-time certification and a real command period as proof. The effect is still inside one crew, which is what holds it at a strong (3).

Why this reads as Far Exceeded: a systemic fix that moved the whole company’s qualification rate and was institutionalized above it. The 11-to-14 delta is the immediate impact; the battalion adoption is the enduring effect ¶3-11a(4) requires.
// 06Common mistakes on SSG 19K NCOERs
The tank as the accomplishment. Owning an Abrams is a position, not a performance. The performance is the score, the readiness rate, and the crew this TC built; the bullet should spend its line there.
Crew turnover as an excuse instead of a story. Every TC loses crewmen. The report-worthy fact is what the TC did about it: cross-training depth, requalification timelines, a new gunner brought to standard in weeks. Turnover survived well is Exceeded material.
No place on the standings. Armor is a ranked sport and the senior rater has the standings memorized. A gunnery bullet with no “of how many” concedes the comparison the profile will run anyway.
