A gunner’s NCOER gets its strength from those numbers plus the quieter ledger, boresight discipline, prep-to-fire checks done right, fire control faults caught before they cost an engagement, and junior crewmen trained toward their own turret seats.

Why this reads at Far Exceeded strength: a diagnosed failure pattern, a built artifact, adoption across the battalion’s crews, and a measured zero the next cycle. The adoption is the enduring effect that separates this from a strong personal-crew bullet.

Scores with no context. A raw gunnery score means little outside the battalion. “Top of 14 crews” or “first-run qualified, 1 of 3 in the company” travels; the bare number does not.
Claiming the tank commander’s fight. The TC owns the tank and the crew; the gunner owns the reticle, the fire control system, and the drills. A gunner bullet written at crew-command scope reads as inflation to every armor NCO who screens it.
Maintenance invisibility. A tank that made every table because its services, boresight, and screening were done right is a gunner story with dates attached. Leaving it out hands the bullet to the motor pool.
