SSG 74D NCOER Bullets: 4 Examples at Battalion CBRN NCO Scope
A SSG 74D runs CBRN for a battalion: six company programs to standardize, the battalion’s protective posture, and the training that makes a contaminated environment survivable. First form with all four box checks.
// 01What makes a SSG 74D NCOER different
The battalion CBRN NCO owns a program of programs: company CBRN rooms inspected and brought to standard, battalion-level exercises planned and executed safely, decontamination and reconnaissance tasks trained at scale, and the additional-duty representatives in every company mentored into competence. The evidence is inspection grades across companies, training rates across the formation, and exercise events run without incident.
DA Form 2166-9-2 opens the four-box scale and ¶3-11a decides on evidence. CBRN programs are inspected relentlessly, which supplies exactly the graded, denominatored facts a tier argument needs.
// 02Tier calibration for a 74D battalion CBRN NCO
At battalion scope: company programs at standard and gate events run safely is Met (¶3-11a(2)); formation grades and training rates that climbed under this NCO’s systems is Exceeded (¶3-11a(3)); peer-best inspection standings among battalions, or programs adopted above battalion, argue Far Exceeded (¶3-11a(4)). // 03Met-tier SSG 74D bullets
Met: ¶3-11a(2) · Achieves
o managed battalion CBRN program across 6 companies; all inspected to standard, mask confidence exercise for 600 Soldiers without incident
Why this reads as Met: six subordinate programs at standard and the formation’s highest-risk CBRN event run clean is the battalion NCO’s duty achieved and maintained, ¶3-11a(2), at the scale the position owns.
Met: ¶3-11a(2) · Leads
o maintained battalion CBRN equipment serviceability above 95% across all companies; zero losses of controlled items
Why this reads as Met: a formation-wide serviceability rate held at standard with clean accountability is enforcement across everything in this NCO’s charge. Held is Met; movement against peer battalions starts the tier climb.
// 04Exceeded-tier SSG 74D bullets
Exceeded: ¶3-11a(3) · Develops
o built quarterly certification academy for 6 CBRN representatives; all programs passed inspection first-time, up from 3
Why this reads as Exceeded: an institution this NCO created for the formation’s CBRN bench, with the pass rate doubled at an external gate. Often-taken disciplined initiative with a countable delta, ¶3-11a(3) as written.
// 05Far Exceeded-tier SSG 74D bullets
Far Exceeded: ¶3-11a(4) · Achieves
o led the top-rated battalion CBRN program of 4 at the brigade inspection; company program checklist adopted as brigade standard
Why this reads as Far Exceeded: peer-best across battalions with the denominator shown, plus an artifact promoted to brigade standard. Best of the upper third and enduring effect, the two ¶3-11a(4) tests, both satisfied on paper.
// 06Common mistakes on SSG 74D NCOERs
Company grades claimed without the mechanism. Six programs passing inspection happened because of the academy, the checklist, the site visits. Name the system; otherwise the credit scatters to six company NCOs.
Risk events written as routine. A mask confidence exercise for hundreds of Soldiers is a controlled hazard executed on this NCO’s planning. The population count and the zero-incident record belong in the bullet.
// 07The 74D bullet BulletForge will not write
Feed the generator a thin battalion CBRN NCO input and ask for the top tier, and it refuses instead of inflating. The refusal names what is missing and burns no quota.
The input a rater actually types
“the battalion’s chemical conscience, every commander’s first call, flawless” · requested tier: Far Exceeded
What BulletForge answers instead of writing it
This input does not support FAR EXCEEDED. Flawless is a grade with no gradesheet; ¶3-11a(4) wants the inspection standings: top program of how many battalions? What pass-rate delta under which academy? What checklist did brigade adopt? One checkable marker or the generator writes the honest tier. Refusals are free.
