SGT 13B NCOER Bullets: 6 Examples at Howitzer Gunner Scope
A SGT 13B is the gunner: second in charge of a howitzer section, the one who lays the gun, verifies the fire commands, and drills the crew until occupation and fire mission times beat the standard. The NCOER should read in crew drill numbers and certification results.

Gunner is a precision job with a stopwatch on it. The evidence a rater can actually use: section certification results with the gunner’s station scored, emplacement and fire mission times against the standard, rounds executed safely across the training year, and the crew drill proficiency of the cannoneers this NCO trains between missions. Every one of those is checkable in the section’s records.
At SGT the form is DA Form 2166-9-1 and the boxes are two, Met and Did not meet (DA PAM 623-3 ¶3-6a). The calibration below is therefore about how strong the sentence is, not which box gets checked, and the same ¶3-11a language will govern the four-box form this NCO sees at SSG as a section chief.

// 06Common mistakes on SGT 13B NCOERs
Round counts as the whole story. Rounds fired is exposure; every gunner on the line has a round count. The tier evidence is what the times, scores, and certifications did while this NCO was on the gun.
Claiming the section chief’s lane. The chief owns the section; the gunner owns the lay, the fire commands, and the crew’s drill. A gunner bullet claiming section-level outcomes without the chief in the sentence reads inflated to anyone who has stood on a gun line.
Ignoring the two-box rule. DA Form 2166-9-1 has no Exceeded box. Writing top-tier adjectives into a Met block spends space that should hold the timed, scored facts a promotion board can actually weigh.
