Sapper work generates hard evidence at team scale: breach lanes run at external evaluation, demolition ranges executed with a clean safety record, obstacles emplaced against a clock, route clearance missions completed, and the mobility and countermobility skills each of the team’s 3 or 4 Soldiers can be certified against. The strong 12B bullet names the lane, the time, and the evaluator.

Explosives handled as a thrill instead of a record. Pounds of demo fired impresses nobody who signs for it. The evidence is the clean accountability, the first-time fires, and the times against standard; the drama stays out of the bullet.

Mobility work left generic. “Supported maneuver operations” wastes the MOS. Name the task: lanes breached, obstacles emplaced, routes cleared, and what the supported unit did through the gap the team made.

Forgetting the two-box form. DA Form 2166-9-1 offers Met or Did not meet, nothing else. Save the tier adjectives; spend the line on the lane score and the Sapper slots, the facts a board can weigh.
